25 Trending Outfit Ideas for Young Women

Scrolling on Instagram or shopping at your local mall can feel like a drag if you’re unaware of what’s popular in the world of girls fashion right now. Keeping up with trends isn’t about purchasing new clothes every season, it’s about learning how you can reinvent the clothes you already own to match what’s stylish at the moment. In this blog post, we’ll go over some trendy outfits that are still affordable and easy to adapt to your personal style.

All of these outfits can be mastered with what you probably already own in your closet. You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars every time a new trend pops up on TikTok. You just need to be resourceful and learn some styling tricks that actually work.

Oversized White Tank Tee with Grey Sweatpants

instagram/linhhmy__

Trust me, I know it seems lazy but some days you just want to wear something comfortable that doesn’t look like you threw up on yourself. Oversized tanks and grey sweatpants are honestly the best for running errands or even meeting up with friends after a long week.

Not only is the oversized fit perfect for warmer weather, giving you coverage without making you overheat. But if you add a pair of simple white sneakers and maybe a delicate chain necklace or small hoops, it’ll make you look like you tried at least a little bit.

Pro-tip: if you feel as though the sweatpants are too baggy for your liking, opt for sweatpants that are tapered at the bottom rather than straight. It will make your outfit look much more intentional and put together.

Brown Teddy Jacket with Leopard Print Pants

instagram/mmequeenb

Who says you can’t cuddly and fierce at the same time? Grab a brown teddy jacket and pair it with some leopard print pants. I promise, it works.

This look is perfect to go errands on the weekend or even to meet up with friends for coffee. You’re keeping warm but still looking so chic. Not only does the brown jacket add warmth to your outfit, but it also tones down the crazy leopard print.

Keep accessories minimal for this outfit. Black ankle boots are your best bet. You wouldn’t want your outfit to compete with itself.

If you’re not ready to commit to full leopard print pants you can definitely start with a smaller print or maybe a more neutral color. Once you get comfortable, you will probably want to spice things up anyways. It’s okay to take your time though!

Olive Trench Coat with Grey Tailored Pants

instagram/bbdenise_

An olive green trench coat thrown over grey tailored pants is such an easy and simple way to look so put together. This outfit is perfect for school or if you need to look professional but still have style.

These colors could also match literally anything in your closet. You’re not just buying two outfits, you’re making hundreds of outfit combinations. Not to mention everyone will notice your sense of style without you trying too hard.

This look is also extremely versatile. Running errands all day? Sure! You can even wear this to a meeting in the morning and wear the same thing out to happy hour with friends at night.

Try rolling up the sleeves on your trench a little when you’re chilling. It creates a more effortless look. Try investing in a good pair of tailored pants that will not crease easily. We’ve all been there where your pants look like you dragged them across the sidewalk. Cheap pants aren’t made to hold their shape like they way expensive pants are.

You should be able to find both of these items at your local department store. Department stores usually have the best stuff when it’s in between seasons.

Tan Knitted Sweater with Black Flared Pants

instagram/harshie17

When an outfit is comfortable and cute at the same time, you know that you’ve mastered it. The tan sweater paired with black flare pants is perfect for when you want to look good but also feel like you’re wearing pajamas.

(The good kind of pajamas.)

Tan and black matches so effortlessly together. You won’t have to stress about what colour accessories to wear. The knit material of the sweater next to the sleek black pants is so eye-catching. Your eyes are drawn to the textures which creates more interest for your outfit.

What I love to do is buy a sweater that’s slightly oversized, not too big but just enough. It creates that cozy trendy vibe everyone is going for these days. Make sure to opt for high-waisted flare pants as well to elongate your legs.

Pro-tip: when you’re shopping for sweaters and you’re stuck between two sizes. Always buy the larger size. It will flow better on your body and give you that slight oversized look we all love without looking like you stolen your sisters sweater.

This outfit is perfect for grabbing coffee with friends or even wearing to work on a casual Friday. You can dress this outfit up or down depending on the occasion.

Black Striped Co-ord Set

instagram/_amyward

Black and white striped coordinating sets are lifesavers when you want to look good but also feel comfortable. Like they’re the best of both worlds.

The top is so airy and breathable for warmer climates but also looks so intentional. And wide-leg pants are the best because you’re able to move. Errands? Shopping? Coffee with friends? You’ll feel so comfortable no matter what you’re doing.

Add some tan accents to your outfit to make it stand out. I love a tan cross body bag and tan sandals to complement this whole look. It softens the hard lines of the black and white stripes.

When looking for a matching set, try to find lightweight materials. You want something that won’t wrinkle too much and won’t stick to you. This is important if you’ll be transitioning from outdoors to indoors where it’s air conditioned. No one wants to be sweating in an air-conditioned building because their clothes became stuck to them.

Grey Buttoned Cardigan with Blue Jeans

instagram/maggie_mccormack

This is one of my favorite go-to outfits for any casual day. Layer a comfy grey mock-neck over a basic tee and pair it with your favorite wide-leg jeans (they’re back! and you need them). Throw on a baseball cap and you’re good to go. Whether you’re covering up your messy hair or just trying to look cool.

You can wear this to just about anywhere. Get coffee? Sure. Run errands on the weekend? Yep. School? Yes, please. This outfit looks like you spent hours on it when it literally takes minutes to put together. Wide-leg jeans are in your life again and trust me, they’re so flattering. You can even wear this exact same outfit for night time if you ditch the cap and throw on a pair of oversized earrings.

Pro-tip: make sure your top has some weight to it. You don’t want it to stick to your body and ruin the look.

Blue Denim Top with White Maxi Skirt

instagram/maggie_mccormack

This whole outfit screams summer and is so great for those lazy days when you don’t want to look like you slept/runmed straight out of bed. Blue denim vest matched with a white flowy maxi skirt is so cute. It’s perfect for brunch with friends or even to work if your work has a laid back dress code.

You also won’t be sweating all day but still look like you made an effort. Pro-tip: add a skinny tan belt to cinch your waist. This will show off your figure even more. If your vest is too long, you can always roll up the bottom half once or twice.

You don’t need to go shopping at designer stores to pull this look off. Sure there are cute things at designer stores but you can find everything at your local mall for cheaper. Just double check that your skirt isn’t see-through (hold it up to the light when your shopping) because we don’t need that type of embarrassment.

This outfit is just so effortless and you’ll feel so confident wearing it all summer.

White Lace Blouse with Blue Jeans

instagram/charlottedrc_

Sometimes all you need is a simple white lace blouse and your go-to jeans. This is such a cute and comfortable vibe. It’s feminine without being too over the top.

You could wear this for a million different occasions. Brunch with friends? Check. Casual Friday at work? Double check. You won’t feel over dressed or under dressed and that’s what we’re going for.

Pair your lace top with a cardigan or jean jacket if it’s cold. Just make sure you can still see some of the lace because we want to show off that detail.

Pro-tip: watch out for see through tops. A lot of lace tops are extremely see through which is not ideal. Try to find a top that has a built in lining or wear a simple cotton tank under your lace top.

Tan Flowing Jacket with Embroidered White Skirt

instagram/sarahmleto

This whole outfit is amazing for when you’re feeling adventurous yet still want to look effortlessly chic. The tan suede fringe jacket paired with a white embroidered skirt? Girl, yes!

This whole outfit is perfect for something like a weekend art gallery or even just coffee with friends when you want to spice up the basic jeans and tee. The fringe on the jacket swings as you walk which is so adorable and everyone will compliment your embroidered skirt because they’ll think it’s handmade.

Pair your jacket with a simple cotton t-shirt so you’re comfortable. And if it’s chilly outside, opt for some cute ankle boots instead of sandals. They’re much more practical. Another pro-tip: try looking at thrift stores for suede jackets. The more worn in they are, the better they look and you can find them for so cheap.

White and tan together is such a simple combination but it honestly works so well together.

Cottagecore Blouse with White Skirt

instagram/baileymarshall

Okay so this is my all time favorite brunch outfit. A sage green embroidered blouse and white skirt. Throw on this perfect combination and you’re ready for brunch with friends or even a garden party if you’re invited to one.

Green seems to flatter every skin tone and white just brightens up your whole outfit. You can rock this look during spring or summer and maybe even some late spring.

What I love to do is add on a woven bag (a plain jane bag, nothing too fancy) and some small gold jewelry. A necklace? Small hoop earrings? Don’t go overboard with accessories but enough that you enhance your outfit.

If it starts to get cooler, you can always throw a cardigan on. Just make sure it’s a neutral color so it doesn’t clash with your outfit. And keep your cardigan to your waist. If it’s longer than your skirt, it will make your whole outfit look silly. Ask me how I know.

This look is so cute and romantic but also so comfortable. Best of both worlds.

Brown Sherpa Coat with White Woolen Pants

instagram/wiktorialipiecc

When it starts to become cooler outside and you still want to look good, throw on a chocolate brown sherpa coat with some off white pants. It’s the perfect blend of comfortable and stylish. This outfit is great for weekend brunch with friends or casual Fridays at work when your not trying to be too formal but don’t want to wear jeans and a t-shirt again.

Finish off your outfit with a pair of tan booties. They go with everything and are so practical. You can walk through leaves all you want without worrying about messing up your shoes. Pro-tip: when looking for your white pants, try and find a material that has some polyester in it. Cotton whites usually stain super easy from things like coffee or oils on your skin. But since polyester doesn’t absorb like cotton does, you won’t have to worry about messy stains.

Another tip: if it’s not too cold where you live, cuff up the bottom of you’re pants. Not only will this show off your boots more but it will also prevent your pants from dragging on the wet ground and getting dirty.

Printed Quilt Jacket with Long Skirt

instagram/miczy_style

If you’re looking to feel extra nostalgic but also stand out from the crowd. Pair an old school quilted jacket with some interesting patterns with a midi skirt. You’ll look so cute and your outfit will have some personality.

This look is so great for going to art museums on the weekend or even coffee with friends. Your outfit will speak for itself.

Top off your outfit with some vintage accessories. A beaded bag? Chunky vintage earrings and/or necklace? Don’t go crazy with your accessories but add some pieces that’ll give your outfit some extra spice.

Pro-tip: when you’re thrifting for that perfect quilted jacket, you’ll find so many good options. You can find some crazy cheap at thrift stores when you’re knowing what you’re looking for. It’s all about that yard sale vibe.

Keep your skirt a neutral color so your crazy quilted jacket can be the center of attention. You’ll be able to pair the skirt with anything else in your closet.

Classic Striped Shirt with Blue Jeans

instagram/aditichoudhary.5

Honestly, when you are in a rush but still want to look good, throw on this outfit. You truly can’t go wrong with a white striped shirt and blue jeans.

This is my go-to outfit when I’m going to coffee with friends, wearing for Casual Friday, or running errands when I think I might see someone I know. White stripes make you look taller and blue jeans are comfy all day.

Quick styling tip, roll up your sleeves slightly to look more effortless. If you’re worried about looking too dressy, you can try tucking in only the front of your shirt instead of all the way. This is called a French tuck and looks more casual.

You also don’t have to spend too much money on this look. Yes, there are high end brands that go here but when you’re wearing basics you really notice no difference. I love to shop at thrift stores for old Levi jeans that match any white button up shirt you could own. I even think cheaper clothes can sometimes look better because they aren’t trying too hard.

Something about this combo that just doesn’t seem to get over styled.

Pink Knit Sweater with White Mini Skirt

instagram/synonymof_moonlit

This knit sweater is so soft and cozy. I love wearing it on cold mornings when I still want to look cute but be comfortable. I paired it with a white mini skirt because it’s super flirty but not over the top you know?

My boots are neutral so they go with everything and really make this outfit more casual. They’re great if you know you will be doing a lot of walking that day. Like walking to classes or running errands. You still look put together but not like you tried too hard.

Another great thing about this outfit is you could wear it to coffee with your friends or wear for Casual Friday at work/school. If you think you will be out for a while I always suggest keeping a lightweight cardigan in your bag. Just incase it gets chilly later!

PRO-tip: Get boots that have cushions on the inside if you know you will be standing/walking all day. Your feet will thank you later!

Like I said before you can find all these things at stores that aren’t expensive. They pretty much sell this type of clothing year round so you don’t have to wait for a certain season. This outfit is great when your local weather is having mood swings.

Floral Flowy Top with White Maxi Skirt

instagram/nina_de_perlinghi

I love this look for spring. A cute floral blouse paired with a white midi skirt is so feminine. It’s perfect for brunch with girlfriends or a garden party. You’ll look cute but still be comfortable.

I love how the flowy skirt looks when you’re walking. It’s also so nice when it starts to warm up outside. If you end up staying out later than you wanted just throw on a cardigan or jean jacket. It won’t take away from the girly look.

Try to find a skirt that is a cotton blend. White polyester can be see through at times which you don’t want. Not to mention cotton will keep you from sweating all day like pant. Trust me on this 😉

Abstract Print Corset with Blue Jeans

I love making a statement but still want to feel comfy. Throw on this edgy abstract corset with light blue jeans. It’s the perfect combination of making a statement but staying cool. For an art show or dinner with friends.

Strappy heels complete the whole look. It helps you be able to wear this when you want to look like you made effort without going crazy. PS- buy a corset one size up if you plan on wearing it for longer periods of time. No one likes to be uncomfortable.

Last but not least, top it off with a designer mini bag. It’s the perfect size to where you have all your essentials but doesn’t weigh you down.

If it starts getting cold just wear a cropped jacket. It won’t ruin the corsets whole look but won’t have you freezing.

Pastel Pink Corset with Blue Jeans

instagram/isabellameliia

I just love how delicate this pastel pink corset looks with light blue jeans. It’s so feminine but still casual. Also, this outfit could be worn for so many occasions.

You could wear this to brunch with your friends Saturday morning or even an outdoor festival. You’ll look so cute but not like you tried too hard. Corsets are great at giving you some shape but the jeans help tone down the fancy factor.

If you’ll be in cooler weather, pair with a cropped cardigan. Just make sure it fits at your waist and isn’t too long. Length is everything when wearing a skirt.

Pro-tip* When looking for a corset try to find ones with adjustable straps or stretchy panels. You want to be able to breathe and move all day.

Black Co-ord Set with Wrapped Scarf

instagram/stefany.lgr

Need to get to work and have no idea what to wear? Throw on a black co-ord set. It matches so you don’t have to stress about what colors go together. Add a patterned scarf to make your outfit stand out.

I love this because I have to be at work all day but meet up with friends later. It doesn’t take much thought and looks great in pictures. The tan shoes and bag really help make this whole outfit look more effortless. I could wear this to the office, dinner with friends, or any occasion.

If you feel wearing all black makes you look too stiff. Buy a scarf with warmer tones that will complement your skin color.

Pro-tip* Co-ord sets are not always expensive. Lots of lower inexpensive brands are starting to sell them. You could basically mix and match with other articles you already own. Giving you more outfits for less money.

Printed Co-Ord Set

instagram/snaphappy_mc

Alright so this outfit is your go-to when you’re walking through a cute beach town. Or maybe you’re grabbing dinner at a restaurant by the ocean.

A print co-ord set is comfortable but will look good as heck in pictures. Coords are life when packing for vacation. You spend so little time thinking about what top matches with what bottom. Coords already match bringing you a put together look with minimal effort.

They normally are made with lightweight material which is perfect for hot weather. Prints always help you get away from plain solid colors. Wear your set all day exploring and keeping them on for dinner at night. Hy-day chic if you ask me.

Pro-tip* Try to buy a set that could match with other pieces you already own. Maybe the crop top would match nicely with a pair of white jeans? Or that patterned skirt will go with a basic tank top. You’ll get more uses out of your clothes.

When you shop online for a coord try looking for floral or geometric prints. Theyre pretty and take lots of pictures on Instagram. They also will likely look good on you since you can’t try them on 😉

Blue Denim Dungaree with White Lace Top

instagram/natalieetrow

Alright denim dungarees and a white lace top. This is probably my favorite weekend outfit. You’re going to look adorable without trying too hard.

Dungarees are awesome because they have pockets. Pop your phone in one pocket, your lip gloss in another, and you’re ready for the farmers market or brunch with friends. No need for a purse!

Quick tip* Try rolling up the sleeves a little. It will make your outfit look more put together and purposeful. Let me know if you’re wearing sneakers or sandals.

Don’t buy baggy dungarees because then you won’t have much of a shape. Get the style that’s more fitted. You want the girls to show through the soft white lace.

Yellow Tie Front Top with White Skirt

instagram/malloryawoods

Bright sunny days call for an outfit that matches the weather. This yellow tie-front top and white skirt is so cute. It’s the perfect blend of comfortable and looking put together. Great when your going to brunch with friends or a casual Friday at the office.

Love the detail of the tie front it doesn’t overwhelm the whole look. And the skirt is so flowy it will keep you cool when it’s hot outside. Tip* I always fear wearing a white skirt so I always keep a stain remover pen in my purse.

Pair this top with canvas sneakers for a more casual vibe. You could even dress it up with some cute sandals for night. The possibilities are endless you’ll look great and feel comfy.

Pink Crop Shirt with White Bubble Skirt

instagram/whatskatiewearing

Don’t wanna look too cute? Simple pair a pink crop top with a white bubble skirt. Perfect for brunch with your girlfriends or when you’re going to an art gallery and wanna look good.

Knee-high boots are key when wearing this outfit. They add edge and you’re not wearing a costume. Also they’re very practical whenMother Nature can’t decide if we need a jacket or not.

Tip* bubble skirts will make your hips look bigger. If this bothers you try pairing you’re top with something more fitted and hits at your waist.

Crop tops are everywhere now so you won’t have to spend too much on this piece. There are so many different shades of pink you’ll find your tone that matches your skin tone. No more settling for the store mannequin’s color.

White Tank Top with Black Cargo Half Pants

instagram/oddstudio_crew

Super comfy and yet you still look like you have your life together. Wear a white tank top with black cargo shorts. It’s the perfect balance of comfy and having style. Great when your getting coffee or exploring the city on the weekend.

What really sells this outfit are these loafers. It adds something that makes you look more classy then your basic streetwear.

Tip* If you’re going to be on your feet all day I recommend getting these in a platform with cushions on the inside. Your feet will appreciate it later.

Love how you can dress this outfit up or down. Add some gold necklaces or bangles if you’re going out. Or keep it simple like I did if that’s more your style. You’ll look so put together and didn’t try at all.

White Crochet Top with Denim Jacket and Long Skirt

instagram/flaflavflavia

Super comfy and weekend appropriate. Wear a crochet top with a denim jacket. It’s so feminine but yet you’re not trying too hard.

Flowy skirts are life! You can walk around with ease and still feel comfy. Whether your shopping at the farmer’s market or grabbing brunch with your friends you’ll be able to walk miles.

The baseball cap really helps tie this whole outfit together. It blocks the sun plus gives off that comfy weekend vibe like you didn’t try at all.

Tip* If your new to crochet tops start with a neutral color. White, beige, or tan will go with anything in your closet. Another little trick is only tuck the front of your shirt into your skirt. This will show off your waist but still look casual.

Long Solid Black Dress

instagram/rayylouise_

One of those go to dresses that will always cover you. You feel comfortable but still look like you have your shit together.

Sandals and sunnies and you’re good to go. This dress is so perfect for grabbing brunch with your friends or wearing for Casual Friday. You don’t want to look too dressed up. And I love how this neutral tote matches anything.

If you’re worried this dress is too fancy try getting it in a lightweight material. Something that flows with you rather then stiff. No one wants to look like a walking poster.

Keep Up with Mia
